Nature Study has brought me closer to those living on Fidalgo Island. The Trees, the animals, plant life and beach communities. I start out by sitting with the tree or plant I want to get to know better. I might photograph it, but I find the best way for me to see the details is to sketch. I will ask the tree or plant if I can take some samples home with me. Once Im there I bring out the books and Nature study cards are filled with info and drawings.
